Under the “Month of Cultural Creativity” campaign conducted by The Ministry of Culture, artist Selenge.N has introduced his “One Day of the World” artwork as NFT at The National Art Gallery of Mongolia.

This art piece has been created by Sergelen.N with fellow artists Ganzam.S, Sainzul.Sh, and Khosbayar.N. Measuring at 21 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, with a total area of 52.5 square meters, the artwork is considered one of the biggest pieces to be done using a traditional Mongolian gouache and watercolor technique.

The artists have spent about 10 years doing research and an additional 10 years creating the piece. The painting contains 193 countries in one canvas, highlighting the regional differences between nature, wildlife, traditions, culture, values, and even famous buildings of each country. There are over 5000 items illustrated on the canvas, all created with the traditional Mongolian technique, which truly shows the features of a “Mongolian painting”.

Furthermore, the digital version of this tremendous piece has been introduced to the public, where certain sections of the painting have been sold for almost 350 million MNT (about 120,000 USD). In fact, out of the 193 countries on the painting, the 5 regions of Singapore, England, Hungary, the continent of Australia, and New York City have been sold for this price.

The successful sale of the NFT shows that it is possible to introduce other artworks to the international market, keep the original pieces in Mongolia, deliver value to unique works, and support our Mongolian artists with the help of technology.
